Playing in front of an energetic home crowd at Sierra Canyon Stadium, the nationally ranked Trailblazers dominated on both sides of the football, improving to 6-0 overall and opening Mission League competition with a convincing victory.

The game also marked Sierra Canyon’s second shutout of the season, highlighting the defensive consistency that has helped establish the program among California’s top high school football teams.
Sierra Canyon wasted little time taking control.
Defensive lineman Kasi Currie delivered an early statement with a strip sack and fumble recovery in the first quarter, setting the tone for a dominant defensive performance.
The Trailblazers quickly capitalized on their defensive momentum.

The offensive production continued into the second quarter.
Junior running back Jibri Abdullah II, making his first start of the season, scored on a two-yard touchdown run. Abdullah finished the night with 70 rushing yards on 12 carries, providing another productive option in Sierra Canyon’s backfield.

With the Trailblazers firmly in control, sophomore quarterback Ian Patterson entered the game and immediately contributed.
Patterson connected with sophomore wide receiver Lance Brown on a 15-yard touchdown pass, pushing Sierra Canyon’s advantage to 34-0 before halftime.

Led by Currie and senior defensive linemen Brayden Tautolo and Cooper Cook, Sierra Canyon consistently disrupted Loyola’s offense and prevented the Cubs from establishing any rhythm.
Tautolo recorded three sacks, while the defensive front held Loyola to zero net yards across its first seven offensive possessions.

The defensive dominance forced Loyola into repeated difficult situations and allowed Sierra Canyon to maintain favorable field position throughout the first half.
With a running clock implemented to begin the second half, Sierra Canyon used the opportunity to give additional playing time to its reserves.
Patterson continued his impressive performance in the third quarter, connecting with junior wide receiver Christian Butler on an eight-yard touchdown pass.
The score extended Sierra Canyon’s lead to 41-0 and completed the night’s scoring.
Hernandez finished with 143 passing yards and two touchdowns, while Patterson added two more touchdown passes in relief.

Together, the quarterbacks helped Sierra Canyon maintain offensive efficiency while distributing opportunities among several receivers and running backs.
Beyond the performance on the field, the evening carried additional significance for the Sierra Canyon community.
The school’s annual Homecoming celebration featured a “Lights Out” theme, with students filling the stands dressed in black and creating an energetic atmosphere throughout the game.
The Trailblazers responded to that support with one of their most complete performances of the season.
For Loyola, the loss presented a difficult start to Mission League competition. The Cubs struggled to generate offense against Sierra Canyon’s defensive front and were unable to find the end zone.
For Sierra Canyon, the victory reinforced its position as one of the leading contenders in Southern California high school football.
The Trailblazers improved to 6-0 overall and 1-0 in Mission League play, continuing their undefeated start while demonstrating the depth of their roster.
Sierra Canyon will look to maintain its momentum as it begins a three-game road stretch, starting with a matchup against Serra on October 9.
With a powerful defensive front, multiple offensive playmakers and contributions from both starters and reserves, the Trailblazers have established themselves as a formidable opponent entering the second half of the regular season.
On Friday night, Sierra Canyon delivered a Homecoming performance to remember, shutting out Loyola 41-0 and extending its undefeated season.
