Sierra Canyon Delivers on the Big Stage, Holds Off Harvard-Westlake for SoCal Title

ONTARIO, Calif. — With a championship on the line and one of Southern California’s top rivalries back on a big stage, Sierra Canyon delivers when it matters most.
Maximo Adams leads the way with 26 points, and the Trailblazers hold off Harvard-Westlake, 63-57, to win the CIF Open Division Southern California championship at Toyota Arena.

The victory extends Sierra Canyon’s winning streak to 21 games and strengthens its standing among the nation’s elite. Ranked No. 6 in The Sporting News High School Boys Basketball Top 25, the Trailblazers continue to get production from a talented rotation featuring Adams, Brandon McCoy Jr., Brannon Martinsen, DeLan Grants, JJ Sati-Grier and rising sophomore Jordan Mize.

The championship matchup serves as a rematch of the teams’ Jan. 21 Mission League meeting in Chatsworth, where Sierra Canyon also defeated Harvard-Westlake, 55-47.
Sierra Canyon now advances to the CIF Open Division state championship game against Salesian College Prep of Richmond. Salesian earns the NorCal title after rallying from a 15-point second-half deficit to defeat Archbishop Riordan.
