Oaks Christian Comes Up Short Against Liberty, 20–17

Oaks Christian football suffered a narrow 20–17 loss to Liberty on September 4 in Westlake Village. The game stayed close throughout the night, with both teams' trading momentum and fighting for control until the final minutes.
The Lions started the game well and scored first, taking a 3–0 lead in the opening quarter. In the second quarter, both teams added seven points. Oaks Christian went into halftime holding a 10–7 advantage and looked to be in a strong position heading into t
he second half.
Liberty responded after halftime and began to shift the momentum. The Patriots scored seven unanswered points in the third quarter to take a 14–10 lead. Oaks Christian’s defense continued to battle at the line of scrimmage, trying to slow Liberty’s offense and keep the game within reach.
In the fourth quarter, the Lions answered with another touchdown. The score remained close, but Liberty added six more points and held on to the lead. Oaks Christian continued to compete late in the game but was unable to complete the comeback.
Special teams also played an important role during the matchup. Oaks Christian created scoring opportunities through its kicking game, while the offense worked to move the ball into the red zone. The Lions also showed strong energy after successful plays, with teammates celebrating together near the end zone.
