From Oaks Christian to USC: Deshonne Redeaux Begins His Next Chapter
LOS ANGELES — After establishing himself as one of Southern California’s most productive high school running backs, Deshonne Redeaux is beginning the next chapter of his football career at USC.
The former Oaks Christian standout enters the 2026 season as a freshman running back for the Trojans, joining a talented USC backfield as he makes the transition from high school football to the Big Ten.
Redeaux arrives in Los Angeles following an impressive senior season at Oaks Christian. In 2025, he carried the ball 156 times for 1,447 yards and 15 rushing touchdowns, averaging 9.3 yards per carry. He also contributed as a receiver, finishing with 12 catches for 160 yards and another touchdown.
His production made him one of the most dangerous offensive weapons in Southern California. Redeaux’s combination of acceleration, vision and physical running allowed him to create explosive plays while also handling a significant workload for the Lions.
Now at USC, the challenge becomes translating those qualities to the college level.
At 5-foot-10 and 205 pounds, Redeaux brings a combination of speed and strength to the Trojans’ running back room. His ability to break into the open field made him difficult to contain at Oaks Christian, while his experience contributing as a receiver and on special teams gives USC additional options for how to use the freshman.
Redeaux also arrives with experience on some of the biggest stages available to a high school player. He was selected as a Polynesian Bowl All-Star and invited to the Navy All-American Bowl following his senior season.
The opportunity for immediate playing time will come with competition. USC enters the season with an experienced running back group, meaning Redeaux will have to earn his opportunities as he adjusts to the speed, physicality and complexity of college football.
But his freshman season does not have to be defined solely by carries or touchdowns.
For Redeaux, 2026 represents the beginning of a longer development process — learning USC’s offense, adjusting to Big Ten competition and finding ways to contribute whenever his number is called.
His journey also keeps him close to home. After spending his high school career at Oaks Christian in Westlake Village, Redeaux now takes the next step at one of Southern California’s most recognizable college football programs.
From Friday nights at Oaks Christian to Saturdays at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the stage has changed considerably.
Now, Deshonne Redeaux has an opportunity to show that the explosiveness that defined his high school career can translate to the next level.
