MOORPARK, Calif. — The 2026 CIF Southern Section Track & Field Division Finals brought athletes from across Southern California to Moorpark High School on Saturday, May 16, for one of the biggest meets of the high school track and field season. The meet featured competitors from Divisions 1 through 4, with athletes racing, jumping, throwing, and relaying for CIF-SS divisional titles.

The meet was one of the biggest stages of the Southern Section postseason. Athletes who had advanced from prelims arrived with a chance to continue their seasons, but the margin was small. In the sprints, one slow start could change a race. In the relays, one missed exchange could end a team’s postseason. In the field events, one jump or throw could be the difference between moving on and finishing the year.

Long Beach Wilson was one of the major programs to watch on the girls’ side. The Bruins showed their strength across the sprints, hurdles and relays, continuing a season that has made them one of the top teams in California. Their speed and depth gave them points in several events and helped set up another strong postseason run.

On the boys’ side, Servite remained a major storyline. The Friars’ sprint group and relay teams gave them a strong presence throughout the meet. With athletes capable of scoring in multiple events, Servite showed why it has been one of the top boys’ programs in the section.

Several local programs also made an impact. Calabasas showed its sprint depth, especially with its girls’ short-distance group. The Coyotes had multiple athletes competing at a high level in the 100 and 200 meters, showing the kind of speed that made them dangerous heading into Masters.

Oaks Christian also had athletes competing across different parts of the meet. The Lions were represented in distance races, sprints and relays, with runners looking to earn spots in the next round of the postseason. Delaney Napierala helped lead the distance group, while Oaks Christian also had athletes such as Rayah Rodriguez and Savanah Williams competing in sprint events.

As the meet wrapped up, the focus shifted toward the next stage of the postseason. Athletes who qualified out of the Division Finals will return to Moorpark for the CIF-SS Masters Meet, where they will compete for spots at the state championship level. For many competitors, Saturday was the final meet of the season, while others earned one more chance to continue their postseason run.
