LOS ANGELES, Calif. — No. 18 USC baseball secured the weekend series against Nevada with an 11-3 win Friday night at Dedeaux Field, using early offense and steady pitching to control the matchup. The Trojans built momentum in the opening innings and continued to apply pressure throughout the game, giving Nevada little room to climb back into the contest.

USC’s lineup set the tone with aggressive at-bats and consistent production across the order. After taking control early, the Trojans continued to add runs and force Nevada’s pitching staff into difficult situations. USC’s ability to turn baserunners into scoring opportunities helped separate the game and allowed the Trojans to play with a lead for most of the night.
The win also gave USC another strong result during its final home series of the regular season. Playing at Dedeaux Field, the Trojans used the matchup to continue building momentum before the final stretch of conference play and the postseason. The victory followed USC’s series-opening win over Nevada and officially clinched the nonconference weekend series.

Nevada pushed across runs of its own, but USC’s offense remained too consistent over nine innings. The Trojans answered pressure with run support and kept the game from tightening late, finishing with an eight-run margin in front of their home crowd.
For USC, the 11-3 win showed the balance that has made the Trojans a ranked team late in the season: production at the plate, control on the mound, and the ability to close out a series once an opportunity appeared. The Trojans left Friday night with the series already secured and another chance to finish the weekend strong.
