LAFC Defeats El Salvador in Friendly at BMO Stadium

LOS ANGELES — LAFC returned to the field Sunday afternoon with a 3-0 friendly win over the El Salvador National Team at BMO Stadium.
The match gave LAFC its first game action since the start of the MLS break in late May, and the Black & Gold used the opportunity to build rhythm in front of their home crowd. Against an international opponent, LAFC controlled the match, created chances and finished with a clean sheet.
Mark Delgado opened the scoring for LAFC, giving the home side an early boost and helping settle the team into the game. The goal allowed LAFC to play with more confidence as it continued to move the ball and look for space in the attacking third.
Jeremy Ebobisse added another goal for the Black & Gold, continuing LAFC’s control of the match. His finish gave LAFC more separation and made it harder for El Salvador to find a way back into the game.
Ryan Hollingshead also found the net, completing the scoring and helping LAFC close out a strong performance. With three different players scoring, LAFC showed balance in attack and used the friendly to spread minutes and sharpen its form.
El Salvador brought energy and support to the match, with many fans in the stadium backing the national team. Even though it was a friendly, the atmosphere gave the game more intensity than a typical exhibition.
For LAFC, the match was not only about the final score. It was a chance to return to competition, test players, regain match sharpness and prepare for the next part of the season. After weeks without official MLS action, the friendly gave the club a useful bridge before league play resumes.
Defensively, LAFC stayed organized and limited El Salvador’s chances. The clean sheet added another positive piece to the afternoon, especially as the club looked to reset after the long break.
The 3-0 win gave LAFC a comfortable result at home and a positive step forward before returning to the MLS schedule. The Black & Gold controlled the match from start to finish, scored through multiple players and gave their supporters a strong performance at BMO Stadium.
For El Salvador, the friendly offered a chance to play in front of a large Salvadoran fan base in Los Angeles and test itself against an MLS opponent. The result went against La Selecta, but the match still gave the team valuable minutes in a competitive environment.
By the final whistle, LAFC had done what it needed to do. The club returned to action, protected its home field and left BMO Stadium with a convincing friendly victory.
