LOS ANGELES — Angel City FC will return to BMO Stadium on Sunday for a regular-season NWSL matchup against the North Carolina Courage, looking to build momentum at home and sharpen its attack against one of the league’s more organized sides. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. PT.
Angel City enters the match looking to build consistency at home after a demanding stretch of the NWSL season. The club will need a strong performance from its midfield, especially from Nealy Martin, who can help Angel City stay connected between the back line and the attack. Martin’s ability to win second balls, break up possession, and keep the team organized will be important against a Courage side that likes to move the ball quickly through the middle.

Angel City will also look for attacking production from its wide players and young playmakers. Gisele Thompson gives the team speed and energy on the flank, while Kennedy Fuller can help create chances between the lines. If Angel City can move the ball quickly into dangerous areas, they will have a better chance to put pressure on North Carolina’s back line and create quality looks in the final third.

Defensively, Angel City will need leadership from Sarah Gorden and the back line. North Carolina can be dangerous when it wins the ball and attacks in transition, so Angel City must limit turnovers in midfield and stay compact when possession changes. The Courage will likely try to stretch the field, test Angel City in wide spaces, and force the home side into mistakes.
